"Dordouma" Sudanese Popsicles

"Dordouma" is the Sudanese interpretation of ice lollies or popsicles. They are the common street snack in the summer time all around Khartoum. It costs only 1 sudanese pound.
Dordoumas are basically frozen different local fruit juices. It comes in various colours and flavours; Hibiscus,  guava, mango, baobab, tamarind. Tamarind and baobab are the main flavours all over the city.
They are made by freezing the juices in mini plastic packs and they are served by wrapping a piece of newspaper around it. All you have to do is rip the plastic packs and enjoy your "dordouma".
It has turned into a bit of an addiction for me, as I got used to getting one whenever I wait for my bus heading to Khartoum city centre. My favourite flavour is red guava as it is rich and quenches your thirst perfectly.

Changing Places

I've recently started going to a new tea lady place. It's located in Khartoum 2; in front of the Ethiopian Church and right next to the Dutch Embassy.
What I love about my tea lady Zainab is that she's extremely friendly and unbelievably wise. She keeps giving me free advice on life, treating people and money.
One of the wonders of Khartoum, in my opinion, is the tea ladies. They are scattered all over the city and they are found almost in every corner.
Their tea and coffee has its own unique flavour which I highly recommend. On top of all that, they are reasonably priced.

Nas Al Khartoum on The Lounge 91.6FM

I have added a new segment to my radio show "The Lounge" on Capital 91.6FM in Khartoum Sudan.
My segment is called Nas Al Khartoum, it is basically the people of Khartoum. It's been inspired from the "People of New York" page on Facebook.
My first photo was of one of my dear friends who works as a waitress at my favourite restaurant. Her name is Maha and this is what I asked her and what she said.
"What do you fear the most in life?"
" I fear deception."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm scared of being deceived by people around me. To be deceived in a relationship, marriage, love or even at work"
Check it out every Thursday evening at 7pm (Khartoum time) on www.capitalfm.sd

Dr Mohamed Bushra Art Exhibition

This is the latest Art Exhibition that I have visited. I'm in love with Dr Bushra's art work, he uses oil colours on canvas and all his art work is ready to be put on the wall. His finish is superb and shows his extreme talent and professionalism.
The art exhibition is taking place at Papa Costa my favourite restaurant in Khartoum. It's located on Al Jumhouriya Street, and it's one of these places with an unique aura of tranquillity and comfort.
If you're in Sudan come and see the exhibition and the restaurant, a definite must visit from me.
Enjoy the photos
