If you live in Sohar then you will understand what I am talking about, but if you are planning to move here then it is worth knowing that it will be hard to find good restaurants to eat at. I have always enjoyed chinese takeaways when I was in England and the UAE. In Sohar where there is hardly any takeaways let alone oriental food, you might be forced to cook your own food. I have recently come across 'wasabi' at carrefour (which is the most common and biggest grocery shopping centre), I also came across Dark soy sauce which is extremely useful.
My only problem with carrefour is that their products are not continuously there, one day it is and the next it is not which is extremely inconvenient.
