Time for Coffee..

When moving to Sohar, Oman, I thought it will be one of these cities that are part of the Cafe Movement where almost the whole nation relaxes at the cafe in the afternoons or evenings for a bit of a snack and a sip of coffee. To my surprise, Sohar was a much quieter city than what I have imagined.

There are 2 nice places I have come across where you can sit and just chill, one is Costa Cafe in Al Safeer Mall which is exactly like the rest of the Costas in the world but a tad bit smaller. And Penny's Cafe which is somewhere near Centre Point in a dinky one floored building. This place offers such a relaxed atmosphere with its home-like furniture and home-cooked meals, all that with a free internet connection on top. To be honest, it was cosy and tight where everything is placed close to each other as they had little space but they also offer an outside sitting area which is superb. The service is slow because everything is cooked from scratch but still not annoying. Although it was pricey, it was worth it as everything from music to furniture worked well together and offered a place to go to when bored.

Oh yeah.. I almost forgot to mention that PappaRoti which is an exquisite cafe in the UAE is opening here in Sohar soon at Al Safeer Mall. If you haven't heard of the place, this is the site to check what you are missing out on http://www.papparoti.ae/

If you have any other nice places to share, then please don't hesitate to leave a comment and let me know so I can try it out.
